Plastic Scale Modeling
Generally speaking, I build 1/48 scale model aircraft and 1/35 scale model armor. I model both World War II and modern, and have even picked up a few WWI airplane kits, although the rigging scares me so I haven't tried one yet. I have a soft spot for helicopters, modern support vehicles, and the Sherman tank, but I build a wide range of subjects. I consider my skills to be "advanced intermediate". My construction is pretty decent, and I wield an airbrush pretty well, but I still have plenty of room for improvement. One area that I'm really trying to build my skills in is dioramas, to include figure painting. My fear of messing up means I progress very slowly. That is true in general and especially when I'm trying new things. I'm getting better at just giving it my best shot and pushing forward.
Anyway, I expect this part of my site will be one of the most frequently updated, especially during the long Wisconsin winters, which is when I get most of my building done. I'm to the point that I actually look forward to winter now because it gives me a great excuse to stay in the basement and build.
What I've got on this page right now is just the foundation for things to come. Expect it to pick up steam in the winter of 2005/06.
